Pre-Production
The research and plan we have done before the final shooting day.
Online
Google (IMDB and Wikipedia)
- During the researching, I searched different genre films on Google chrome and look the basic details mainly in IMDB and Wikipedia, such as the director and the production company. Also I searched the the films that are in the same genre as ours final idea, and learned the key conventions from the similar products.
Furthermore, I did research into different film industry on google too. I researched the difference between big company and small industry.
Google Slides
- We did the developing ideas together in the shared Google Slides, it allows us to work as a group and can easily add details in or change the storyline. We used the Google Slides to create the film opening ideas 1, 2, 3 and the Group Pitch 1, 2, 3. The Google Slides can easily embedded into the blogs.
Google Docs
- We used Google Documents several times, we wrote the feedbacks, the new outline idea, the storyboard, the call sheet, the shooting schedule and the prop and costume list on it. It is really convenient as we can write into the documents from different devices. It helps me to plan and organise all the preparations.
YouTube
- YouTube is a large video platform, I can find many previous opening title sequence on it. So I used it to look at some of the examples in the past and learn some tips and the key elements in the title sequence. Also, I looked at some famous film opening title sequence which helps our group to develop ours. And found some title sequence designed by Saul Bass. Furthermore, I uploaded the foley sound practice we did on YouTube.

Software
iMovie
- We used iMovie to edit the opening title sequence.
Amazon
- For preparing the costumes and props, we bought many props on Amazon. There are all kinds of props and costumes on it, and also most of them are in good qualities. I bought 4 grey long sleeve T-shirt and a survivor waist bag on it.
Shein
- I also bought the costume on Shein. Shein has a cheaper price which can save the below the line cost. Also it has a larger variety of clothes. I bought a green cargo trousers and a black bag.
- We set up a group chat in WhatsApp, We have been contacting each other on it and discuss the project together.
Outlook
- We send emails to our teacher and casts through Outlook. We can contact our casts and backups on it.
Hardware

- In our test shoot, we use Canon EOS 750D Camera to shoot the scenes. The camera can give a higher quality video than phones, it helps the test shoot as a better effect.

Laptop
- We use the Mac Laptop for editing the test shoot.
iPhone, iPads
- I use iPhone 12 and iPad Air to do all the research and planning.
